Tadelakt Color Samples on Bisque Sample Tiles
Tadelakt samples applied to bisque tiles to showcase the wide range of color options when using tadelakt.
An example of "sgraffito" or carving of designs or patterns into the tadelakt while its curing to achieve a multitude of design options.
Curing tadelakt is treated with an olive oil soap or black soap and polished smooth with a quartz stone to achieve a hydrophobic surface.
Tadelakt is blues and pigments with ultramarine are sometime difficult to work with in large quantities. as the high level of pH in the lime tends to neutralize the ultramarine causing the blue to turn tan or a neutral off white. This makes projects where blue or non lime stable pigments are used a little more time consuming as the tadelakt must be mixed into smaller batches for large installations.
